FLEXICA 1.1  - README.TXT   January 1997

FLEXICA is a PC based Cellular Automaton (CA) program for running and
displaying two dimensional CAs. 

FLEXICA includes built-in CA rules for John Conway's Life and for
HighLife (an interesting variant of Life). 

It can also be used to run 'configuration-dependent' CA rules in which 
the state of a cell at the next generation is affected not only by the 
number of live neighbour cells, but also by the configuration (=positions)
of these cells. Such rules differ from 'configuration-independent' rules 
like Life and HighLife in which the state of a cell is affected by the 
number of live neighbours, but not by their configuration.

Installation is straightforward. See the User Manual for details.
