This directory contains files related to Cellsim, the SunView-based
cellular automata simulator.  The current version of Cellsim is 2.5,
which was released back in 1990.

  Many people have asked us if an X11 version of Cellsim will ever be
available.  We actually do have an unfinished prototype XCellsim,
which may be released someday, but we're not making any promises on
that.  If we do ever release an XCellsim, it will be announced on the
comp.theory.cell-automata Usenet newsgroup, as well as the Cellular
Automata mailing-list (send e-mail to cellular-automata-request@think.com
for information about the mailing-list).

Also, please send one of us a message if you obtain Cellsim for the first

  The announcement of Cellsim 2.5, briefly describing some of the changes
  made since earlier versions, and describing how to obtain Cellsim.

cellsim_2.5.tar.gz
  Compressed tarfile containing Cellsim V2.5.  This has had a few bugs
  fixes applied, since V2.5 was first released.  If you got Cellsim2.5
  before mid-April 1990, then you are missing the bug-fixes and should
  grab a new copy of Cellsim.
