Dear Joke,

I was very happy and impressed when I found your page about Alife on
internet. "Zooland" was a big encourage for me because I saw that
many people on all over the world are making programs like those,
which I make. I`ve been programming for 7 years. I know Basic, Tpascal,
Delphi and I`m learning C++. This year I discovered a new idea. It was
because I`m interested in enthomology. This idea was about program to
simulate life of ants` nest. Thousand of ants were looking for food and
taking it back to their nest. However it was kind of boring, nothing
was changing. Then I decided to make a program with evolution. Each
bug had his own DNA describing his behavior, speed, etc. They could
reproduce and give their children their actual DNA, mutated in one
case. It caused evolution. In the way of evolution few species were
arising. It was interesting, but I wanted something more, so I involwed
predators. Predators at the begining couldn`t find their victims so I
gave them sight. After many, many changes I got very good program. Then
I bought a popular book entitled "Artificial Neural Networks". I read
many important informations in this topic. It was an impulse to write
"Evolrace" - the program and code I sent you with this email. You can
make the route and place 100 of cars at the start. At first time you have
random neural networks in each car. It`s good to press 'b' few times till
receiving a car that can drive according to bends. Then, by pressing 'g',
you can choose the best one and make 100 of copies, each one mutated a
little bit and begin a new race. I would be very grateful if you could
place this program on your page. Now I`m working on the simulation of
bugs and predators with neural networks and possibility to make signals
understanding by each other. I`m going to put to that world one species
of bug and predator and let them evolve. I`ll send you this program as
soon as it will be ready. Please, consider my favor and write to me -
